July 1, 2006 – A journey to Jaipur, India in Asia

Entering The Golden Triangle Via Jaipur, The Pink City

Known as the Pink City and fortified by pink walls, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. The maharajah of Jaipur had the town painted pink (though it's actually more of a terracotta color) to welcome visiting British royalty awhile back. As part of one of the most famed tourist routes in India, the Golden Triangle (Agra and Delhi being the other two points in the triangle), the town is also the largest city in the province. Lots of people and lots of bumper-to-bumper traffic line the streets. Near Jaipur lies the famed Amber Fort and Palace.
