July 2, 2006 – A journey to Fatehpur Sikri, India in Asia

Fatehpur Sikri, A Ghost Fort And Palace

I enjoyed greatly the palace-fort at Fatehpur Sikri. Designed by Persian emperor, Akbar the Great, he believed in the harmony of all religions, cultures, and peoples. He had representative symbols and designs from Hindu, Muslim, Persian, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Chinese and other cultures/religions carved and detailed in his palace. Unfortunately after his death, the palace and fort were left for ruins, since he had them built far away from a good water source. His ideals were left behind as well.
