May 7, 2006 – A journey to Vietnam-Cambodia Border Crossing, Cambodia in Asia

Crossing Into Cambodia And Changing Currency

If you plan to change all your dong currency into American dollars or Cambodian riels (as Cambodia uses both types of currencies) at the border, make sure you count it all. If you're in a rush, change only what you can count. One of the Vietnamese currency changers made off with some extra money from Rick and I, because we were in a rush. Even though LP says that there aren't any working ATMs in Cambodia, that's old information. They now have ATMs in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

We had to pay a visa fee ($20 USD, which is expected for a Cambodian visa) and again, a border crossing fee ($1 USD) just to get across into Cambodia.
